Harley Gordon is a founding member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the nation’s largest professional organization dealing with elder law issues including the serious impact extended care has on families.

 

His views on the subject have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The CBS Nightly News, The Today Show and the PBS Frontline documentary, “Who Pays for Mom and Dad?”

 

Senior Market Advisor selected him among the “10 Most Influential People” in the LTC industry. Harley has written extensively for insurance and financial publications the Journal of Financial Planning and Broker World which published his innovative ideas on how to engage clients in a discussion about extended care.

He has worked closely with major players in the long-term care insurance business including Genworth, OneAmerica, Lincoln Financial, Northwestern Mutual and Nationwide to develop programs that motivate brokers, agents and advisor’s to proactively engage clients in a discussion into the serious if not irreversible consequences a need for care has on families and the professional’s business model. All partners have noticed increased activity based on Harley’s ideas and presentations.

 

Harley has expanded his ideas on changing the intent of the extended care conversation to life insurance challenging old beliefs that producers find the need for life insurance.
